This data protection notice (as of 11.05.2022) applies to the following pages operated by the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam:

Web logs of the central WWW server
University of Applied Sciences Potsdam as Host of the website open-access-brandenburg.de automatically collects and stores information in the web server log files that your browser sends to us.
These are:
- Browser type and version
- Computer name or IP address of the accessing computer
- Time of request to server
- Requested web page
The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable delivery of the website to your computer. For this purpose, the IP address of your computer must remain stored for the duration of the session. In addition, the data serve us to ensure the security of our information technology systems and to optimize our website.
Of the above data, the IP address is considered personal. Your IP address is only stored for a short period of time and then completely anonymized (deleted or alienated). After that, the aforementioned data are no longer personal. They are deleted as soon as they are no longer required to achieve the purpose for which they were collected.
The legal basis for the temporary storage of the data and the log files is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO, because there is a legitimate interest of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam to detect and eliminate malfunctions and to optimize the site.
Website Analysis with Matomo
The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam evaluates the use of the web offer for purposes of website optimization with the help of the analysis service Matomo. In the web analysis with Matomo, the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam does not use cookies. Tracking across pages or sessions does not take place. The IP numbers are also anonymized.
How we handle form data
If our website offers the possibility to enter personal or business data such as names, e-mail addresses, addresses, etc., the disclosure of this data is voluntary.
Linking to social media platforms
The Vernetzungs- und Kompetenzstelle Open Access Brandenburg refrains from using so-called social plug-ins for its website and thus follows a recommendation by the Brandenburg State Commissioner for Data Protection and the Right to Inspect Records.
Links to central social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Vimeo, Instagram) from the UASP website are established by means of an image link element that does not pass on any personal data such as IP addresses to these or other networks.
If you follow the links while visiting our website and are logged in to the respective platform via your personal user account, the information that you have visited our website will be forwarded to the platform and stored there. To prevent this, you must log out of your social media account beforehand.
Information on the purpose and scope of data collection by the aforementioned platforms, as well as the further processing and use of personal data there, as well as setting options for the protection of privacy, can be found on the websites of the respective platforms.

Your rights
According to the General Data Protection Regulation, you also have the following rights: if your personal data is processed, you have the right to receive information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 DSGVO). If incorrect personal data is processed, you have the right to rectification (Art. 16 DSGVO).
If the legal requirements are met, you may request erasure or restriction of processing as well as object to processing (Art. 17, 18 and 21 DSGVO). If you have consented to the data processing or if a contract for data processing exists and the data processing is carried out with the help of automated procedures, you may have a right to data portability (Art. 20 DSGVO). Should you make use of your above-mentioned rights, the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences will check whether the legal requirements for this are met.
